iPhone 13 Features
A15 Chip
One of the main features of our refurbished iPhone 13 series is the A15 Bionic chip. The A15 Bionic chip with 5-core GPU results in fast graphics and better battery life thanks to power-efficient components. To give you an idea of what that means, the iPhone 13 series models are designed to last 2.5 hours longer in a day than the iPhone 12 series models.
The A15 chip also means an upgraded camera with night mode. Smart HDR4 provides better colour, contrast and lighting. The A15 chip also brings cinematic mode with a depth effect and autofocus. It also records videos in Dolby Vision HDR.
Design & Appearance
Apple opted for a noticeable design change with the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max appearance differs as it has rounded corners that follow a beautiful curved design. The iPhone 13 series has smaller notches, having been reduced by 20%, resulting in a slightly bigger screen.
The iPhone 13 series models are built with a ceramic shield display for improved durability and 4x better drop performance. The ceramic shield is made by embedding ceramic nanocrystals into the glass through a high-temperature crystallisation process. The ceramic shield also uses dual ion exchange, increasing the size of the ions to make them more solid. The combination of these two makes for tougher glass, which is more resistant to bumps and scratches and more likely to stay in one piece if it gets damaged.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini models are encased in aerospace aluminium, which is less prone to bending with a brushed aluminium finish. In contrast, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models are made from surgical-grade stainless steel.
The durability of all iPhone 13 series models is yet another reason to purchase.
Face ID & Wireless Charging
All of the refurbished iPhone 13 models at OzMobiles have Face ID and are compatible with MagSafe cases, wallets and wireless charging.
5G Compatibility
Like the iPhone 12 series, all of the iPhone 13 series models are 5G compatible. This means superfast downloads and high-quality streaming for its users.
Storage Capacity
Both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini models are available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models are available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, a huge storage upgrade compared to the entry iPhone 13 models.
Weight
The iPhone 13 weighs 173 grams and offers a 6.1-inch display, which is the same size as the iPhone 12. It also has the same OLED Super Retina XDR display with HDR, True Tone, P3 wide colour and Haptic Touch.
The iPhone 13 Mini only weighs 140 grams and offers a 5.4-inch display, making it easy to hold and use with one hand.
The iPhone 13 Pro weighs 203 grams and offers a 6.1-inch display, which is the same size as the iPhone 12 Pro but is packed with more features.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max weighs 238 grams and offers a 6.7-inch display. The big screen, larger storage options, and the extra battery life capacity make this refurbished iPhone perfect for video.
Screen Display
All refurbished iPhone 13 series models come with an OLED screen with a Super Retina XDR display and High Dynamic Range (HDR). In addition, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have Super Retina XDR display with Pro Motion.
Pro Motion is the new feature with 120-Hz screen refresh rate technology, which was famously featured on Apple’s iPad Pro back in 2017 but didn’t make it to other devices until now. This new feature doubles the number of frames per second from 60 to 120, making animation much smoother and creating a stunning video experience that you will see immediately.
Camera
At OzMobiles, we love a camera upgrade with each iteration of the iPhone. So, we were happy to see the sensor-shift optimisation included in the iPhone 13 series, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. This feature allows the lens to move and better cope with uneven changes of movement.
Another new feature of the iPhone 13 series is photographic styles. These are essentially quick filters that modify options like contrast and brightness to fit a look that is unique to you.
Our refurbished iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini models showcase the new dual-lens camera system, including a new sensor in the main 12MP camera, which allows 47% more light for improved night photography.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have three lenses placed over a larger camera module.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feature wider apertures on the main and ultra-wide cameras and a LiDAR scanner to tap into for night-mode portrait shots. The ultra-wide camera provides a 92% improvement in low-light photography and support for macro mode. This means brighter, sharper images even when the lights are low.
The icing on the cake for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is the telephoto camera upgrade. Its new 77mm telephoto lens now has a 6x optical zoom range, with a digital zoom of up to 15x. It offers more zooming capabilities than the iPhone 12 Pro, and with a wider f/1.5 aperture, it lets in more light, too.
Video Recording
All models in the iPhone 13 series offer HDR Dolby Vision video recording at up to 4K at 60fps.
4K video means it records with extended dynamic range and cinematic video stabilisation. This allows your videos to be smoother and with higher image quality.
The iPhone 13 Pro packs support for Apple’s ProRes video recording standard at up to 4K at 30fps (1080p at 30fps for 128GB storage). This is a major feature for professional videographers looking to get the highest quality and lowest compression possible. ProRes is a high-quality, lossy video compression format for those who want more control over video editing but are concerned about phone storage with uncompressed videos.
Consumer Trends & Upgrade Behaviour
In recent years, more Australians are trading in their phones every 2–3 years rather than annually, reflecting a broader global shift towards sustainable usage and smarter spending. The iPhone 13 series aligns well with this trend, offering a feature-rich experience that doesn’t feel outdated even several years after launch.
Refurbished purchases are also on the rise, especially among environmentally-conscious buyers and tech-savvy consumers who recognise the long-term reliability of Apple devices. A refurbished iPhone 13 from OzMobiles gives you flagship functionality without the flagship price tag.
Feature Adoption & Demographics
Face ID adoption continues to be strong, with recent studies showing that over 85% of iPhone users prefer Face ID over the legacy Touch ID. All models in the iPhone 13 series support Face ID, making them highly appealing to those who value seamless security and fast unlocking.
In terms of usage demographics, the iPhone 13 series sees strong uptake across a wide age range—from students to professionals—due to its balance of performance, camera quality, and battery life. The Mini model is popular among younger users and those seeking a compact design, while the Pro and Pro Max appeal to creators and professionals who need greater power and visual clarity.
Sustainability & Materials
Apple has increased its commitment to sustainability with the iPhone 13 series. These devices contain 98% recycled rare earth elements across all magnets, including those in MagSafe and audio components. The logic board is made with 100% recycled tin for soldering, and the antenna lines are made from upcycled plastic water bottles.
Choosing a refurbished iPhone 13 from OzMobiles extends the lifecycle of already-produced devices, keeping them out of landfill and reducing e-waste, helping you make a more environmentally responsible choice without compromising on quality.
