How we test every Apple device
Every phone and iPad that reaches our Melbourne facility goes through an automated 80-point Phonecheck inspection before it's approved for sale: an independent, machine-verified record, not our own judgement. How Phonecheck works

Detection - Component
Scan - Authentic

Condition grades and battery health
We grade on cosmetic condition. Every grade passes the same 80-point inspection, so the grade changes how the device looks and its battery minimum, never whether it works.
Every phone is 100% functional and fully tested. The grade only describes how it looks.
The five grades
New
Never used, never activated. Android phones come sealed; some Apple phones are opened for a quality check, and Apple's own warranty check shows they were never activated.
Exceptional +3 months cover
As new, very faint to no marks.
Ex-Demo
Like new, very faint to no marks. Same look as Exceptional.
Excellent
Minor scratches you won't see at arm's length. Light marks on the sides or back are possible, from wearing a case.
Good
Visible marks on the back or light scratches on the screen, never deep. With the screen on, or with a screen protector, they're hard to see.
Your protection
